Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information MoNeel Ventures LLC ("dbHydrate", "we", "us") collects, why, and what choices you have. It covers the dbHydrate desktop apps, the dbhydrate command-line tool, the dbhydrate.com website and your customer account.
What stays on your computer
dbHydrate is local-first. Your database connections, saved credentials, profiles, run history and the data you work with stay on your computer. Database traffic goes directly from your computer to your own servers. We never receive your database contents or credentials.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, used to sign in with a one-time code and to send you license and billing emails.
- License and device details: license keys, the products and terms you bought, and for each activated device a hardware fingerprint, a device name, the operating system and the app version, so a license works on the number of devices you paid for.
- Trial details: a hardware fingerprint per computer and product, the dates of the trial and, if you give it, your email address.
- Billing details: your subscriptions, invoices and refunds. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Terms acceptance: when you accept our Terms of Service and Refund Policy we record the version, the time, your IP address and browser, so we can show what was agreed.
- Website and email logs: basic request logs to keep the service secure and working, and a record of which emails we sent you (not their contents).
How we use it
We use this information to provide licenses and trials, process payments and refunds, send service emails (for example receipts, renewal reminders and payment problems), prevent abuse, meet legal and tax obligations, and support you when you contact us. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to process payments, taxes and refunds.
- Our email provider, to deliver service emails.
- Our hosting providers, which run our servers and databases.
Each of these providers processes information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Who can see it at dbHydrate
A small number of administrators can see account, license, billing and trial records to support customers and run the service. Every change they make is recorded in an audit log.
How long we keep it
We keep account, license and trial records for as long as your account is active. Payment, invoice and terms acceptance records are kept for the life of the account plus 7 years, for tax and legal reasons. Sign-in codes expire within minutes and are deleted soon after.
Your choices and rights
You can see your licenses, devices and subscriptions in your account, free up devices, and cancel renewal at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to delete your account (we keep records we must keep by law). Email [email protected].
Security
Saved database credentials in the desktop app are encrypted on your computer. Our servers use encrypted connections, sign-in codes are stored only as hashes, and license answers are digitally signed.
Children
dbHydrate is not for children. Individuals must be 18 or older to use it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Each version is numbered and dated, and we will tell you about important changes.
